Last season provided some memorable moments for gifted forward Reiss as he firmly proved himself a valuable member of the team’s attacking options. Firstly, he marked his first Premier League appearance of the season with two goals and an assist in the 5-0 win over Nottingham Forest in October. Then, after picking up a thigh injury in December, he returned to score a memorable 97th-minute winner in the 3-2 comeback victory over Bournemouth in March – a strike that won him the Premier League Gamechanger of the Season award. And what made the moment even more special for Reiss is the fact he is a homegrown talent, having arrived at Arsenal aged eight and made his debut in the 2017 Community Shield aged 17.

A talented winger who can also play centrally behind the main striker, he joined German side Hoffenheim on loan in 2018/19 and became the third-youngest player to reach five Bundesliga goals, before making 22 Arsenal appearances the following season, and although he was an unused substitute in the 2020 FA Cup final, Reiss scored from the spot to help beat Liverpool in the Community Shield.

He spent 2021/22 on loan at Eredivisie side Feyenoord, where he made 32 appearances and played a key role in the Dutch side’s run to the Europa Conference League final. He has represented England at every age group from under-16 to under-21 inclusive, and was named in the UEFA U-17 Championship Team of the Tournament in 2016.
